What Is Guaranteed Issue Life Insurance?

Also known as guaranteed acceptance life insurance, guaranteed issue insurance is a type of life insurance that is available to anyone, regardless of their health. These policies are usually purchased by people with a terminal illness, or older applicants that want to cover their burial costs.

Guaranteed issue insurance is easy to purchase because it does not require a medical exam for an approval. If you meet the age requirement, you are guaranteed to be accepted. The trade-off with these policies is that most of them have a two-year waiting period before they offer full coverage.

In addition, most insurance companies have a minimum acceptance age of 40 or 45, and they limit their customers to $25,000 of coverage. Thankfully, the policy we offer avoids these pitfalls by offering up to $100,000 of nearly immediate life insurance protection to almost anyone over the age of 18.

What Is A Waiting Period?

A waiting period is the amount of time that must pass before a guaranteed acceptance life insurance policy provides full coverage. During this time, if the insured passes away from a health issue, their beneficiary will receive a refund of all of the premiums that have been paid, plus interest.

However, if the insured passes away from an accident during this time, their beneficiary will receive the policy's full death benefit. While a two or three year waiting period is standard with most guaranteed issue life insurance companies, the policy we offer provides more immediate coverage.

Instead of imposing a two-year waiting period, this guaranteed acceptance policy provides full coverage for health-related or accidental death on the first day of the following month. In other words, your beneficiary will be eligible for the policy's full death benefit within 30 to 60 days of its issue date.

How Do I Purchase Guaranteed Issue Life Insurance?

Purchasing guaranteed acceptance life insurance is fast and simple because there are no health questions or medical exams needed for an approval. Most insurance companies will allow you to apply online or over the phone, and a few providers still accept applications through the mail.

In order to qualify for guaranteed issue life insurance before 40, you MUST be working at least 20 hours a week. If you are not currently working, or if you collect Social Security for a disability, you won't be eligible for the guaranteed acceptance policies we offer until age 40.

What Do I Need to Apply For Guaranteed Issue Insurance Before 40?

Before you apply for life insurance, we recommend reviewing your budget. In order to keep your coverage active, you'll need to make a payment each month, so make sure your policy is affordable. If you fall behind, your policy could get canceled before you have a chance to catch up.

Here are some other decisions you'll need to make before you decide to buy a policy:

Your Beneficiary - This is the person that will be responsible for coordinating your end of life expenses and burial costs. Most people list their spouse or a trusted family member that is financially stable. You can also list a business, charity, trust, or estate.

Payment Method - Most guaranteed acceptance life insurance policies are approved and issued in less than 24 hours, so you'll need to provide a payment method when you apply. Most companies accept checking or savings accounts, a few providers also accept credit or debit cards.

Coverage Needs - Consider your need for life insurance before you purchase a policy. If you need more coverage than you can afford, you might want to reach out to your family members for help. Our agency is able to offer as little as $5,000, or as much as $100,000, depending on your budget.
